The Act gives the Commission oversight powers in every sector, including presently regulated industries. The Act provides that in the event of any conflict, the Commission would share concurrent oversight with the industry specific regulator.
The Act mandates the industry regulators to negotiate agreements with the Commission on how the powers of competition and consumer protection would be exercised within their industries.
